Martin's friend is a photographer here in SLC. I checked out her website and love what she does. Here are two poses I particularly like:
I like how he is angled out of the photograph and looking just above the camera. It's not a normal stance and it adds interest to the pose.
I like to try and take photos from down low but they usually make the person's head appear tiny and feet appear small. This way of cropping the photo between the waist and the knee helps make him look more proportional. The silos also add strong leading lines and are solid structures to add strength to the man's appearance.
