Editing

I took this photo of my fam yesterday while we walked around Silver Lake.  I love photos from behind of people holding hands.
(ISO 1600, f/4.5, 1/50, Av mode, auto ISO & auto white balance)
This is straight from the camera.  It's a good picture but I don't like how the sky is washed out to the left of Martin's head.  We were in the shaded woody area but the sun was bright over there.


So although I love the bright colors of the grass and the girls' clothes, I turned the picture black and white to make the white sunlight not as obvious.  I also added a matte for fun. But I noticed that the focal point of the picture is kinda Martin's back and then you have to look around to see the girls.

I cropped it down to put Kenzie's head and Martin's shoulder in the rule of thirds power positions, keeping Syd in the right quadrant as well.  What a great final product!
