Photographing Children

It's not easy to compose a good shot when your subjects are silly little kids.
Kenzie wouldn't stand where I asked and Syd popped her head in just as I clicked the shutter.

I didn't realize the tabernacle would add such an odd shape to the right side of the photo but I did like the shade it was giving us that afternoon.  If I stepped to the left a little more, there'd be a better view of the temple, but I'd be in full sun and things didn't look the same over there.  It didn't matter much though because the girls were doing their own thing as usual.

The girls make strange faces when they see the camera, even out of the corner of their eyes.

Syd is cute but those sunglasses make her look a little silly.

She looks so tiny sitting on this lonely bench sucking her thumb.  There are lots of leading lines pointing to her though!

I couldn't get Kenzie to stand still at the doors because she just wanted to climb up and down the stairs.  Since they were stone, I didn't snap as many pictures here as I would have liked.  (I didn't have an assistant!)

When I saw this alcove, I just knew Syd would climb in it.

Funny faces and movement are a must when snacks are involved.

See above.

I think I'm getting better at catching good moments amidst the crazy ones.  Practice is fun!
